Swauk Prairie is located in the foothills of the Eastern Washington Cascade Mountains and as we drove through the area we saw a small herd of bison and these two calves enjoying a playful romp. Bison Ranching facts: Today there are approx. 500,000 bison in the United States and the numbers of bison are growing by 15-20% per year. Even with this rapid and continual population increase, Bison meat only supplies 0.01% of the red meat market.
