Great idea. I have some bulbs like that around here somewhere and was thinking of doing something with one but you've pretty much effectively killed that idea. Great work on this I like it a lot. It has a nice warm feel to it as well. Great job and an awesome first entry and a great start to this challenge!!!

As you might be able to tell by looking, those are not quite your regular 100 watt general service bulb you put in a table lamp. These are specialty rough service bulbs designed for temporary lighting on construction sites. They have far more filament supports and they come with a clear rubberized skin coating (Shatter Shield) on them to keep workers safe from hot broken glass raining down in the event some numb nut (I'm guilty of this) gets careless on the job and breaks one. I removed the coating from the bulb in the foreground for clarity but left it intact on the 2nd one in the background. I love shooting glowing filaments. One of these days I'll try to shoot a metal halide lamp starting up. It may be interesting or it may be a dud. I'm thinking dud or I'd already done it by now. Paul

You know, I don't even own any incandescent light-bulbs any more....I'm not even sure I can buy them....I have looked, I do have a few, but they are from Mexico. Traveller
