NGC 281 is a magnitude 7.0 object and spans 80 light-years and is about 10,000 light-years away in the constellation Cassiopeia.

NGC 281 gets its name from the classic video game character it resembles.

Nikon D7200 (unmodified); Sky-Watcher ED80 Pro Refractor and a Tele Vue 0.8x Reducer/Flattener @ 480mm / f/6; Nikon 1.4x Teleconverter making for 672mm, f/8; ISO 1600; IDAS LPS-P2 Filter; Celestron AVX mount; guided with SSAG; and PHD2; 12 x 7 minute subs (total integration is 84 minutes).

Shot in RAW; converted to 16 bit TIFFs; stacked using DSS; processed in Pixinsight and Photoshop CC.
