Lonicera sempervirens
(Trumpet Honeysuckle)

Kingston Springs, TN

A deciduous to partially evergreen climbing or trailing
vine with smooth bluish-green oval to ovate compound op-
posite leaves. The reddish-orange tubular corolla with
five lobes attracts Hummingbird like a beacon. The
yellow stamens and style protrude just out of the tube.
The red berry fruit is quite showy and a good source of
food for birds. Found blooming in woods, edge of woods
and thickets from May-July.
