Assassin bug nymph (Zelus) on white trillium (Trillium grandiflorum)

Reveler Conservation Area

As I was photographing the buds of white trillium I suddenly realized that a tiny wispy insect was perched on one of them... an assassin bug nymph. Despite their name which sounds formidable, these bugs are harmless to humans but lethal to other insects, which is why gardeners welcome them to their gardens.
