One World Trade Centre
also known as the “Freedom Tower”, is a 104 storey
structure built on the site of the original World Trade
Centre which was destroyed on 11 September 2001.
The tree on the left of this photo is the “Survivor Tree”,
which was recovered from the site, in November 2011, by
the New York City Department of Parks and Recreation
and replanted in a Bronx nursery, where it recovered and
was replanted in the National Memorial, where it stands
30 feet tall. It has become a “symbol of hope and rebirth”.
