Petrified Forest NP, Arizona

fair weather cumulus clouds are common, formed by condensing vapour in rising air...in the spaces between the cloudpuffs air is in turn descending...the sky here is more active than it seems

Great and stranger with the contrast created by the petrified trees on the foreground. They evoke the separate pieces of craft having crossed the stratosphere.
