Common Snowberry

Southern Vancouver Island

Common Snowberry facts: Snowberry is an important browse for many types of livestock and wildlife. It is important for shelter and food for various birds and small mammals. To humans, the fruit is inedible and considered poisonous by some. That certainly was the case for some Pacific Northwest aboriginal people, who called them “corpse berry” or “snake’s berry.” ~ Bellingham Herald

Interesting that anything else seems to be able to eat them but not humans. Nice details and format!
