A Stop Along the Way - 1890's

Cowichan Station, BC

Cowichan Station was built in 1895 to service settlers living in the area, as well as the logging and copper mine operations in nearby, and is typical of small railway stations built during that era. The railway stop continues to serve the small community of Cowichan Station where the Esquimalt & Nanaimo train runs daily along this line. The railway station is maintained by the local community.

What a nice shady place in the summer and dry waiting area for the inclement weather.
