Thank you to Erik Simonsen for contributing this great old rare photo from the 1957 Air Show that was held at Masters Field. Erik says the T-33 was used to take up VIP's and the media and the F-100C Super Sabres in the background were the air show performance aircraft. This was the famous air show where Marine Corps Aviator John Glenn, then assigned as a staff member at Naval Air Test Center at Patuxent River, Maryland, flew the F8U-1P Crusader to thrill the air show crowd. Two years later he was selected as one of the first seven astronauts for the U. S. space program.
