located just up the street from MGH, I often wondered about this strange building, but only recently learned more about it
this was designed by Paul Rudolph, a Yale academic architect who championed the Brutalist school
the style & design seems particularly curious given its dual function as a municipal services building & as a city outpatient psychiatric clinic which MGH backed up for emergencies
