Despite the smoke, at the appointed time, once again the wind died and the drakes came. A few more duns this time, but no rising fish. They probably didn't want to stick their noses up into the film scum.

And from almost nowhere, here came a cloud of brown drake spinners, ready and apparently willing to serve as photographic models. I had what I came for.
