Alliaria officinalis
(Garlic Mustard)
April 28

Along the Harpeth River @ Newsomes Mill

This and two more will end my third year of PaDding.

A tall massing perennial found from SE Canada south.
18"-36" tall with terminal clusters of four-petalled
white flowers (April - June) found in the edges of
woodlands, banks, roadsides and waste places. Also
notice the simple heart-shaped sharply toothed leaves.

Great study of one of my favourite flowers - not because it is a spectacular flower but because it is a food plant of our earliest Spring butterfly, the Orange Tip!

Congrats, Scott, for this long distance PAD!
