(Nashville Mustard)

Roadside in Western Davidson County, TN

Nashville Mustard is a winter annual found in wet fields,
lawns and roadsides usually around limestone outcrops. It
is endemic to Middle Tennessee and the surrounding High-
land Rim counties. It blooms from March through to May.

The yellow mustard that I used to see as a kid in the fields is not seen anymore here. It has been replaced by corn and other more profitable crops. Your version is a much shorter plant.
