Pink Floyd's "Dark Side of the Moon" is a musical work that is so
deeply woven into my fabric that I often dream to the tunes that
make up this Rock Symphony. While spending my summers working in
the Inner City housing projects in Atlanta, GA., I would frequently
fall asleep with this playing through my headphones I guess for me
this (while disturbing at times) was more pleasant than listening
to the sirens, traffic and gun shots outside.
The final two songs ("Brain Damage" and "Eclipse") have always felt
more like one song. It is definitely the exclamation point to the
powerful sentence that is this work. I was happy to find it on You-
Tube in a video just this way with Roger Waters and David Gilmour
together as it should be and will be in "The Great Gig in the Sky".
I had this idea too if I'd have done an SP! Dark Side of The Moon is very special to me - a wonderful piece of work. I love the ad hoc female voice on Great Gig in The Sky which apparently the casually hired singer made up for herself on the spot! Wonderful!
