I took this image of Lake Tahoe today from the top of Mt. Tallac on the southwest side of the lake. I climbed Mt. Tallac today to prepare for a backpack trip I am doing with friends August 14 to 20 in the southern Sierras. We will be climbing some high mountain passes on the backpack just north of Mt. Whitney. Climbing 3,400ft in 4miles to get to the top of Mt. Tallac was good training for the up comming backpack.
Mt. Tallac is 9,700ft high, Lake Tahoe is 6,200ft high. This image was taken 3,500ft above the lake.
