Do you know what this was? It was the general store, post office, and yes, even the phone company. They had the old crank telephones in the "town" when I lived there in 1963 that connected to the switchboard and yes, they really worked. The store also had a gas pump outside, the kind with the big glass cylinder on top, but even in 1963, the glass on it was broken and it didn't work.
