A co-worker turned me on to this stream near the Shining Rock Wilderness area. There's a trail that comes close to where Dark Prong empties into East Fork, but no trail up the stream, so this was another creek walk. It's been very dry around here, so water levels are down. There are numerous cascades along Dark Prong and a couple of waterfalls up to the 4600' elevation level. Here's one of the cascade areas.
