100 images, 30 seconds each in duration, have been stacked to create the star trail image you see here. That's the Sand River in the foreground. Our land rover is in the area of the red light on the left of the image. It is very dark in this location!
The Southern Cross contains the southern circumpolar location that remains constant in position in the Southern Hemisphere, similar to the North Star in North America.
