Beautiful overview of the life giving Sabi River Valley. The river provides shelter, water, habitat, and food for almost all animals in the Sabi Sands area (so named because it sits astride the Sabi and Sand river valleys).

Hippos live in the reedy pools on the left bank (we never got to see any). Lions and Leopards enjoy drive in dining as their prey comes to the river to eat and drink - the predators make their dens near the river.

Spring is starting to color the valley. In the rainy season the river runs bank to bank and becomes impassable.
