Nuttall's are a sub-species of White-Crowns that are year-round inhabitants of
shoreline areas of the SF Bay from Albany to Alameda. They are generally grayer
than their seasonal inland cousins with a yellow-beak with black smudges (as on this male).
The small oasis of land at Oakland Middle Harbor hardly seems sufficient to
provide their needs, but the flock has been there many years now.
