Alice Finds Nemo*

Playing around with some strange ideas for 'blue', I perused my old Disney photos, and had set aside some blue ones to consider. Finding Nemo, a shot taken with my Sony U20, and Alice in Wonderland in a parade, taken with my L1. For fun, I decided to stick Alice in with Dory and Nemo's dad (hey, she's in Wonderland already...can't get any weirder!).

I don't think it's worthy of competition, but thought I'd stick it in here for any critique on the photos, or the post processing.

That's always the hard part - blending pics taken at two different times of day. I tried throwing in a shadow for her on the ground - but never realized how hard it is to make a realistic shadow! The lighting and shadow on her are affected by the parade she was in...it was tough selecting her out from the other characters.

But it is fun to try this type of editing. I'm still not really good enough at it to try entering contests with them...but practice practice practice! Before I came to STF, I wouldn't have had any idea how to even make a layer and paste it over, or to look at shadows and lightfall in two different subjects.

Justin, you did a good job of adding Alice to this image! Excellent job of extracting Alice from the original! I'm not sure the sun angle and shadows are exactly right for Alice but it's pretty close anyway :-) Nice work!
