Rochester Panel (detail)

This Barrier Canyon Style petroglyph panel may represent the evening sky. The rainbow would be the Milky Way and the other figures might be constellations. On the other hand that interpretation (as with almost all rock art) may be way off. Many of the figures seem Barrier Style due to round eyes and antenna but some of the figures as well as the zoomorphs suggest other possibilities. In the end this panel seems unique and there are few parallels to it anywhere else in Utah. It would be easy to claim this as a Fremont panel since it is in Fremont territory but its Barrier Canyon attributes makes its classification difficult.
