I think one can translate "startle" into Cantonese as "haak yat tiuh", which could perhaps be rendered back into English as "scare one jump".

For some reason I thought of that when I processed this picture this evening.

Incidentally, there wasn't much colour in this shot even before the black and white conversion. It's probably about time
I started a "Black and White" gallery, and all my shots of IFC Mall could go into it, even if not converted to Black and White. :-)
