Hi Liana,
You have excellent sewing skills.
I live in Australia and try to purchase Marfy patterns on line through an American site. Every time I try to order it does not allow that item in cart to that location. I emailed them and they said they do ship here. Have you any advice please.
Thank you Jennie

Hello, Liana. I found sewintriguing after reading some of your reviews and tips on patternreview.com. Your garments are sewn and modeled so beautifully. I have been inspired and have learned many new things to help me in my own sewing, having come back to sewing after so many years away.

Hello Liana. I see you and I have the same two interests.. Sewing and CATS! I'm hoping you made Vogue 1115 and can tell an intermediate sewer (I can just about manage an "Average" Vogue pattern) if the pants are "Advanced" or if that labelling was more for the jacket? I'm tempted to buy the pattern to make the pants... a bit of a cheek considering that my 7 Vogue patterns from the last on-line sale only arrived in South Africa yesterday!! ("I have to say there aren't many I will actually think of purchasing, although the Rucci top and pants, 1115, are coming home with me. It's such a classic silhouette of his, and one I love." you posted on Artisan's square in 2009)... Thanks!

I am working on a Marfy dress 1020 .. the bodice is silk chiffon and the skirt is a silky velvet ... I need to finish the neck edge and wonder if just a rolled hand stitched finish or a bias binding finish would work best ???

Liana,
Found your website by accident. Your knitting and sewing skills are incredible. I have saved under my favorites as an inspiration to me, an intermediate seamstress and knitter. I am currently concentrating on knitting and belong to a knitting group with some nationally know knitters and several intermediates. It has greatly enhanced my skills. You a have great eye for color and fabric combinations. Thanks for making your creations available on line.

Hi Liana,
You do wonderful work. I LOVE your blueberry colored bag. Where did you get the pattern? I hope you'll share it. Keep stitching!

I absolutely love your Segue shell with the Vogue jacket! You do really quality work and you've got terrific color sense for your own coloring. Once I start getting into serious knitting/sewing, I aspire to develop your talent and style sense.

I happened on your site when I tried to Google a local fabric store named Fabrics and Findings, Here it is about 40 minutes later. Wow, your sure are one prolific sewer and what beautiful work! If you wouldn't mind answering a couple of questions I would really appreciate it. You seem to be involved in a number of sewing competitions. How do you hear about these? And I was very interested in your Saran Wrap block. Are there detailed (idiot proof) instructions on making such a thing? I remember a Threads Magazine article on making your own dress form in this way but not a block. I would love to know how to make blocks. Thanks for your time. Bobbie from NY

Thank you all for the very kind comments! I am almost speechless. However, I would like to suggest that you all might like to look at and possibly join a sewing board called Stitcher's Guild. It's a wonderful resource for answers to sewing/fiber-related questions, and there is tons of inspiration available there. Also, I happen to be a Moderator there. Go to Stitcher's Guild athttp://artisanssquare.com/sg/index.php (you'll have to cut and paste) and take a look.

Louise, I think you could get a lot of help with your suit there, but I would say definitely underline, with either a fusible like Texture Weft or Pro Weft, or with something like silk organza. The crease may come out with vinegar/water spray and then iron, but test first. It could be permanent. As for the nubs, good luck!

Liana - what an inspiration you are! I stumbled upon your site while looking for informaion on Marfy patterns. I have been in a lulled state re:sew/knit projects. I want to change my overall look and wardrobe. I've reached that mid point in life and need a new look.....and there you were! Your work is creative, marvellous and unique!

I stumbled upon your post a few months ago and have been enjoying your blog and admiring your skill ever since. I am presently making a suit for a friend..vogue # 2873 if you have access to a pattern book..I am using black dupioni silk..being from a small town in British Columbia,Canada I don't have access to a great variety and find this piece of silk to be quite nobbly...I mean LARGE nubs. Also, I am having a lot of difficulty with the crease line in the fabric from being on the bolt. Any helpful hints? Also, this suit is a wedding suit for a wedding in Thailand. As I find the fabric wrinkles so badly would you ( I am asking for advice here) think underlining would be a good idea? As the suit is so tailored I thought it might be helpful.

Liana,
You are truly an inspiration your sewing is exquisite. I have not sewn in years and just bought some lovely fabric and gotten my machine cleaned and am ready to sew.

May I ask, when you refer to your FFF skirt, what pattern is it?

Thank you,
Chris
