| I did not start out to be a photographer. I took a six month solo car trip through Europe in 2000 after being told I probably had two to three years to live. I called it my Joy In Beauty Tour, on the premise that awe and wonder are healthy emotional states which might help fend off a recurrence of my cancer. You can visit the Travelogue I wrote about and during that journey here. |

| In 2000,I took pictures with a little Canon Elf APS 'to paint from' when I got back, thinking I wanted to oil paint. When I returned, everyone liked my photos, so I just kept doing it, and eventually learned that the garden was my 'canvas' anyway. In 2006 I returned to France and Italy for a second trip, this time for three months. Then in 2012 I returned again for three months, this time to Normandy, Brittany, Paris, Prague and Barcelona. I continue to work on and post albums from this journey. |
