Celejowska Tenant House

Kazimierz Dolny, Poland

The Celejowska tenant house is one of the most valuable manneristic monuments in Poland.
Erected with limestone in 1635, the Celejowska tenant house has a richly ornamented stucco elevation and a high roof parapet, considered one of the most beautiful in the country.
The attic consists of three merlon-like parts with niches containing life-size figures of John the Baptist, Christ the Redeemer, the Holy Virgin and St. Bartholomew – the patron of Bartłomiej Celej, the founder of the tenant house.
Today, the building houses one of the branches of the Vistula Museum.
