The cruiser USS Chicago launched in 1885 and commissioned in 1889, one of the US Navy's first steel ships
Over the years she went through several upgrades and refits, she served in different theatres and rolls, flagship, training ship, submarine tender and receiving ship.
She was decommissioned and sold in 1936, she sank while being towed from Hawaii to San Francisco
