July 16, 2006

I went ona short plane ride today with Greg and Viera to get some homemade pie. We didn't actually get pie because the winds were strong enough for Greg to abort the landing on the pie end of the flight. I was feeling bad about myself for being nervous as the plane fish-tailed in 3 dimensions, but Greg assured me that the conditions were objectively "pretty bad" today.
I make it a point to avoid planes. Being in one usually means relinquishing control which I do quite poorly. But, I got myself into this little-box-with-a-prop because I have all the trust in the World in Greg's judgement.
So, thanks for the adventure, Greg, even though it was "sans pie".

Went to Alan's place for a great pool party/barbeque...not a bad day at all.

As you can clearly see by the fact that the green earth is on the bottom and the blue sky is on the top, I am quite adept at "posing while flying". ;-)

Shouldn't Greg be looking ahead instead of posing for a photo? hahahah

Great shot!!!

Since someone wanted to know why we skipped the landing on the short runway surrounded by trees, which prevented us from having pie...9 knots, gusting to 18, nearly a direct crosswind, variable by about 120 degrees. Pie wasn't worth it!

great shot...did you have crosswinds at the runway or turbulence...what were the wind conditions.

You probably got some nice shots from the air... but i'll stay on the ground and look at them from here...
