Sad that I am, this idea came to me in bed at about 2.00am this morning.
I put the camera and flash at the bottom of the stainless steel laundry bin
which was placed outdoors and I just looked down into the bin..

I set the flash to manual on 1/8 power,
set the camera on shutter priority to 1/200 (my max sync speed with flash),
underexposed by 2/3 of a stop to get the sky looking blue.

I remotely triggered the camera – and hey presto. The bit with me in could be better,
But I love the effect.

PS. I notice that the EXIF data says no flash, this is because the flash was off camera
and triggered by a device on the camera hot shoe, this allowed me to position the flash
so that I could bounce the light off the insides of the bin...

A laundry bin? I thought you had found some public art to look through!
A well lit face - I really can't handle all the tecchie stuff!

This framing has a surreal look to it! Nothing surreal about you though! :))

WOW ! This is simply awesome Ian... wonderfully creative, superbly executed. Your reflection around the inside of the shiny bin is the icing on the cake on a beautifully composed shot.

Amazing! I don't know how you think of these shots, and the technical details are always excellent. Big Vote
