Perched atop the roof of the Franz Bakery and Bakery Outlet Store is a mighty, glowing loaf, a beacon in the Portland rain.

The replica loaf of sliced enriched white bread -- approximately 20-25-ft. in length -- rotates horizontally on a center axis pole. The lit loaf was added to the building in 1956.
