NGC 1788

NGC 1788 is a dusty reflection nebula located in a mostly neglected corner of the Orion constellation about 1300 light years away. Lynds 1616 (the dark nebulosity near the bright core) is apparently part of NGC 1788.

This is an 8.33 hour LRGB image (300, 60, 65, 75 minutes) using 10 min 1x1 subs for Lum and 5 min 2x2 subs for R, G and B.
FOV 36.3 x 24.7 arc minutes @ 0.59 arc second/pixel (0.98 arc second/pixel as displayed here at 60% resolution).
