This Maserati had an amazingly long career in competition. In 1936-37 it was on the Grand Prix circuit (winning the Pau Grand Prix in 1936) and racing in the Vanderbilt Cups. It competed in the Indianapolis 500 of 1938-39 and after the war at Watkins Glen from 1948 to 1955, winning the Seneca Cup race in 1949 and 1955.
