The dirty snow pile is from a recent storm. It is hard packed. The Deere Excavator's weight is 48,430 lb. (21 974 kg). So it better be. :)

Over here they use snowblowers, huge one, making piles 2-3 times those heights. They sometimes last till July. V

An interesting and realistic photo.

People from non-snow states sometimes do not realize snow is not always pretty. The good times are walking around during a light snow or the morning after when everything sparkles. A few days later it looses its appeal. These dirty piles can last for weeks.

But, I'd never give up snow and move South.
