Perching birds, or songbirds, are the most common birds on Earth. True perching birds have four toes, three directed forward and one backward. They are found in abundance on all continents except Antarctica and on most oceanic islands. With 5,700 different species in this grouping we often find ourselves challenged to identify individual birds and have a temporary holding group we put them into for classification: TBBs or better know as Tiny Brown Birds!
