Hi Ed. What you describe as an "old house" in Palmyra, New York is actually the Garlock House. Olin Garlock invented a new patent for making seals and gaskets and formed Palmyra's main industry -- the Garlock Packing House. The house you picture was his. Sometime in the late 19040s or early 1950s, it became a fairly classy restaurant -- The Garlock House, where my mother sometimes worked as a waitress. It was owned at the time by a man named Bus Blum. Later, after his time, the restaurant fell on hard times, deteriorated, opened once as a pizza restaurant, and then later as an attempt at another somewhat better restaurant. As far as I know it is now closed entirely. When it was owned by Bus Blum, it was renowned for its beautiful rose gardens. Thought you might like to know. Vince Lynch
