These large turtles are found almost exclusively in Florida. This one is about 16 inches from the front of the shell to the back. He/she didn't move much so I hope all was ok. Once in a while I see one that has been hit by a car. This one looked ok, but didn't move as I photographed it.

What a wonderful catch. We see them occasionally near our house, but not very often.
