1962 - Fran Wodzinski, the bride-to-be, in misspelled Kwik Chek ad in The Miami News Bridal Section

Frances Wodzinski was selected from a group of ladies getting married in June 1962 by The Miami News to appear in their annual bridal section offering tips to brides regarding weddings and receptions. The bridal section also contained ads from businesses interested in attracting folks who were about to be married.

Kellogg's Corn Flakes and Home Milk are among the items Fran is buying. And of course, everyone who grew up down here knows that all our Kwik Chek supermarkets were renamed to Winn-Dixie.

Remember the song from vacationing in South Florida but can't remember the line after convenient locations either--might be get top value when you shop or something referring to Top Value stamps--was a catchy tune that I never forgot--just that one line.

We went to the Kwik Chek in Flamingo Plaza in Hialeah. Also known as Winn Dixie.

Does anyone remember their song? "Kwik Chek, Kwik Chek, where your dollar buys you more. Kwik Chek, Kwik Chek. Kwik Chek food store. Convenient location, La la la la quality. Kwik Chek, Kwik Chek. Kwik Chek food store. Kwik Chek, Kwik Chek, Kwik Chek" fades out.

I was born in Miami in 1954 and have always remembered this song, but I can't remember the la la part!

Larry, it sounds like you were a career Winn-Dixie man? Do you remember a store manager in Hialeah by the name of Herman Roberts?

Great picture of a young Bill Trujillo. He managed the Kwik Chek ( the correct spelling) and now Winn -Dixie. I believe store was around S.W.23 Ave. and S.W. 8th St. Store # 231
