1948 - ad for Mackle built homes on LeJeune Road

Hialeah, Florida


Thank you to Ellie Wheeler for contributing this old Mackle ad for new 3-bedroom homes. The ad says that the model home is at LeJeune Road and NW 57 Street which doesn't make sense - it should have been E. 8th Avenue and 3rd Street which would have been the equivalent of NW 57 Street.

we came from ny and saw line of people and va offers my dad only had 13.00 and the man in back of us saw my dad and mom had 3 little kids gave the rest of the down payment i still have our orig bill of sale virgina gardens. i met one son of mr makel at my business in coral gables when he was doing a history on his family we lived at 3810 e 9th ct later moved to 492 e 27st the best years of my life. living in that era, i wish everyone could experiency life.my last name has changed from chidichimo to pecorino but im still an original elem school in the portables to jr high to one year at the new school. my friends were hollis wheeler marvin williams, the best football player in hialeah, tommy & reggie callahan and kids from that time. god bless heaven on earthy, hialeah in thye 40s and 50s. tony (chick) chidichimo, now anthony pecorino

Right on that address I lived at 855 E 5th Street, Mom and Dad brought it in 1953 lived there till after 1970, house is still there but is now a two story and has concret lawn..
