This is suicide bridge, built in 1913, though more formally known as the Colorado Street Bridge, in Pasadena California. More than 150 people have jumped from this bridge to their death, but one must also feel some sympathy for the poor people in the Arroyo below waking up to find a new dead body in their front yard or walkers/hikers stumbling across someone crumbled and dead on the trail.
There are three successive fencing barriers built to try to stop this Behavior. I do think the most recent one is and has been successful though. However any real access to the bridge has been severly curtailed. Architecturally this a lovely structure and fun to walk. I think this picture conforms very much to the light and dark theme of this challenge at a bunch of different levels.
