Tina Turner Tribute - Live

Quail Creek, AZ

Nothing better than a good live musical performance, music made by man, musical instruments made and played by man.

BTW, image is for fun and will probably disappear in a week or so.

I will take a good look at the upcoming iPhone 16 Pro. It may have a 5x lens which might be ok. The current Samsung 23 had a 10x, but they reduced it to a 5x in the latest phone.
As it is "always the camera I have with me" it may get more use. But it still won't have the sharp 400 mm lens, and the 1/3000 sec for birds that I want, and even excellent macro.

I will use both.

Just for the record I do miss some aspects of DSLR photography and April 8 will be one of those opportunities. I can’t imagine my cellphone will provide very interesting imagery if I can even attempt it since I can’t seem to locate my solar filters from the last eclipse. But as you say the cell is very compact, lightweight and always in my pocket.

In 2019 I noticed that I was using my DSLR gear less and less. About the same time we went to an event at the Kauffman center for performing arts featuring one of the National Geographic photographers. Something he said we all have heard many times before “it’s not the camera” really stuck with me. He went on to show a stunning Apple iPhone phone video commercial making the comment that he was the videographer of that commercial and it was filmed entirely on the iPhone 11 Pro. That was enough for me and I made the decision to sell everything I had and use the cell only. It was not a snap decision, I sat on it for a few months mulling it over and experimenting using the cell only then sold it all. So here I am the cellphone photographer. Paul

It is somewhat funny to me this attention to Smart Phone IQ when I spent an hour last night researching this....and do I want to do a "Paul," and do some jumping to Phone Photography....see here:

Sigh...DSLR's are heavy....Phones are small and pocketable.

Even tho it’s nos DSLR IQ it was good enough for me to see what I needed to see. Clearly a Stratocaster and the bass player has a Fender Precision bass. Quality instruments! I believe the dark area I saw on the Strats headstock was a shadow from the light angle on the B-E string guide. Thanks! Paul

Paul - I put another better shot of the guitar in pending for you. This is a very large file.
Look at in in "original". https://pbase.com/image/174438689

Remember , this a an iphone from a distance, not a good camera. Can't bring a camera with me to performances (unlike T)

Toss it when you are done.

I couldn't tell you any details.
What I can tell you is that he is very good. Apparently this group switches up on their tours, and he takes the lead for some tribute shows for some male rock and roll stars.
While she was off stage to change into a new outfit, he did a "Johnny B. Goode" number that was outstanding.

I like to analyze things and break down visual clues, always have. I keep looking at the guitar thinking it could be a Fender Strat but there’s not enough detail in the photo so when I zoom in for a closer look I can tell. I also note the odd headstock, it either has a sticker, paint or an actual cutout which would be crazy since that’s already a weak spot and highly susceptible to cracking on any guitar. Paul
