Generally an overly bright light bothers me a lot. For some reason, this one really doesn't - and I am not sure why. I think once my eye goes to the bright light, it quickly moves right to the red.
This might also be a great scene for a HDR - perhaps 5 shots down to -3 ev. But I wouldn't want to brighten up the lower 3/4, so some blending would probably be necessary. Lots of possibilities

Humm, Dave, that is quite interesting...alas I have a busy work week ahead, (because I do crazy things like this shoot on Saturday)...I have a different frame with better colors that I worked on today....but I don't think it will match the title with your reqquested changes...hummm....you do make me think, Is that a good thing?....(grin) Traveller

The brightest lights dominate the image for me. Please find out whose they are, have them tone down the lumens, and re-shoot. That said, I really like the light reflected by the wet sand. I could almost crop the entire land area at the top, along with some of the dark space at the bottom.

I tired a tighter crop on this after your comment....feeling there was too much black space at the bottom of the image....this was purposefully cropped to be 3x2 aspect ratio for maybe printing...so I threw this idea out and did a new crop...but the future seemed much nearer and so it was actually a different image with the crop...so I haven't changed it....lol
