Leonard Knight, who began building his massive desert art project in 1985
and has by his account, used upwards of 100,000 gallons of paint
to cover his sculptured mountain wonderland.
A squatter on Government land, Leonard has worked on his giant painted desert
with the idea of it becoming a museum of sorts
and a possible legacy for him when he's shuffled off
this mortal coil.
He abhors organized religion and hasn't set foot in a church in years.
