Habituated 7-31-20

The fawn less doe https://pbase.com/britestar/image/170816316
is being fed by our next door neighbor.

Today, the doe casually strolled up to our lower patio to munch on greenery. She wasn't at all concerned that I was only a few feet away with my camera. She looked at me & then, continued what she was doing. People don't frighten her. Although I got clearer shots after she moved away from the vegetation, I chose this one when we made eye contact & she blew me off. I've never seen a deer come up so close the house before.

This is the same deer than I've had to yell at many different times for eating the young shoots off our storm damaged crab apple tree https://pbase.com/britestar/image/170786439 In that situation, she'll look at me and then merely continue what she is doing. She isn't at all frightened by people.

The doe is also quite aggressive and will bad naturedly chase other females & their fawns off.

Lots of COVID US news, but none good.
So I'm skipping it today.

Meanwhile the neighbors added still another bird feeder. So the hawk https://pbase.com/britestar/image/170911759 is quite happy and not going anywhere.
