The 2/8/07 Thursday Challenge—Shades of Red

My blushing tribute to the David Letterman show "Grinder Girl". And thanks to guest Sam Wraith's comment below this will forever be aka "Sgt. Peppers Phony Sparks Gloved Hand"

This is a real shot with minor PP touchup; It is not a PS collage. There is a trick involved to create the real sparks. Can you figure it out? The grinder is a standard handheld unit. I wore red gloves. The grinding wheel is spinning ferociously but the wheel motion was frozen by the flash burst. Scott tripped the shutter and handheld the flash unit off camera after I finally got the shot setup right. Check out my previous day’s shot to see a totally different preliminary look at this attempt.

Dear Bill, I first noticed your photo because I'm forever telling the Wife not to use peppers in my food! The intention was to show it to her as a way of saying "I told you about peppers!" but the caption just came as I stdied the photo. In fact when I did get to show the Wife she came up with her own title. She looked at the picture and said "Oh I see - HEARTBURN!" Nice work by the way, theres nothing phoney about it at all. Excellent !!! (V) The idea is great, the way it is done is even beyond imagination. When there is a nail in the back to create the sparks, it is also well done, not to be sees in the shadow.
