Situated in the middle of downtown, this controversial bronze statue was a gift to Tucson from Mexico.
Pancho is considered a folk hero in Mexico. (In 1926 grave robbers decapitated his corpse and his skull was never found. There's also some debate about where the rest of his body is buried.)
The placing of this statue in Tucson created quite a debate as many Americans look upon Pancho Villa more as a bandit than a hero.
