the new version of Neat Image did a fine job with the noise that was generated during image optimization ...this noise may have been avoided had I used RAW, but the results seem more than acceptable to my eye
Neat Image blazes now & of course works much faster with jpgs than RAW files, though the advantages of 16 bit processing will be lost
