After leaving my base at Hebgen Lake outside Yellowstone Park on Monday, I headed south into Idaho towards the Henry's Fork of the Snake River. Along the way I saw the sign for Big Springs, the headwaters of the Henry's Fork, and remembered what a beautiful place it is. When our family visited here 16 years ago, it was hard to enjoy the springs' crystal clear waters for long without being carried away by mosquitoes. This time the little rascals were much more well-behaved, and I was able to spend quite a bit of time here soaking in the scenery and watching the wildlife.
