...After spending the night in Cambria, we drove towards Monterey, stopping to explore a wonderful tide pool area at low tide, and for lunch at a little restaurant atop the cliffs of Big Sur. Gorgeous sunny weather the whole way, with temperatures in the 60's. It's been many years since we traversed 17 Mile Drive around Monterey peninsula, and we arrived there too late to do it full justice. It got dark on us about half way around the peninsula, but we did get to see some fine scenery in the light of dusk.
