IC434 - The Horsehead, in Hydrogen alpha 12-Nov-2010

6 - 20 min. exposures with the SBIG ST-8300M (monochrome) CCD camera at -20C. Baader 2" 7 nm Hydrogen Alpha filter. Telescope configuration: EdgeHD 9.25 (2350mm, f/10) and no focal reducer, binned 2x2 yielding an image scale of 0.95 arc-seconds/pixel. Mount: Losmandy G11 w/Gemini. Focused using a Bahtinov focus mask. Post processing: bad pixel removal in Nebulosity2 using a 12 dark frame BPM (threshold 8581); Calibration, alignment, stacking in ImagesPlus 3.82b using 24 bias frames; DDP and curves in Nebulosity2. Autoguided with a Lodestar autoguider connected to a Stellarvue 50mm finderscope and a Celestron 2x Barlow and PHD autoguiding software.
